A big congratulations to our U14 Boys team as they were selected to be a part of the Florida State Premier League (FSPL). FSPL exists to provide elite U14-U18 teams with the opportunity to compete against the most competitive teams within the state of Florida. Only 16 teams are chosen in each age group throughout the state. For coach Jorge Martinez and the team, it's a huge accomplishment.

The Lancers U12 Boys Premier team made it all the way to the finals of Region C Cup in U12 Boys for Division I. The three-time defending USA League Boys Champions won a hard-fought semifinal in overtime against FC Tampa Rangers. The team fell to Tampa Bay United Premier in the final. It's a great accomplishment to make the final eight teams in the entire state at U12 and shows the hard work and dedication of all the players, parents and coaches.

We were also so happy to see the U12 Boys Elite team make it to the quarterfinals of Region C Cup in U12 Boys for Division II. This team worked all year to find the chemistry it was looking for and began to gel right before Region C Cup. The training and development led to the strong run through the tournament and a committed focus on the future.

The U16 Boys headed into their final event of the fall season this past weekend at the Orlando City Cup hoping to leave on a high note. After two ties and a victory, the team found themselves in the U16 Gold Division finals against Kissimmee United. Regulation time wasn't enough to determine a champion, so the game went to a penalty shootout. The Lancers won the penalty shootout 4-2 to capture their first title of the 2014-2015 campaign. The team now will have a break from competitive activities as high school season begins. They start their USA League season once again in February 2015 with an eye on doing well at State Cup.

The U12 Boys Premier team competed in the Tampa Bay Labor Day Showcase and started the season off in fine finish. They won their bracket going a perfect 3-0 in group play. Finishing first gave them a straight path to the finals on Labor Day. In a great back and forth game between two excellent teams, the U12 Boys came up just short vs. Florida Rush by a score of 3-2. The team continued their strong play from a wonderful U11 campaign. Coach Julio Vargas and team now prepare to compete in the U12 Premier Division in the USA league beginning in October.

Members of the U6 Plant City FC All-Star Academy represented the area at the 3v3 National Championships over the weekend at the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, FL. The boys went through the four qualifying matches undefeated and then won their quarterfinal matchup. The ride to the title came to an end against a strong team from Miami in the semifinals, but they finished 4th overall out of 25 teams competing. Members that train as Lancers are Jaime Ibarra, Oliver Pena and Samuel Vargas. The talent these boys possess is astounding even at this young age and the Lancers have the building blocks toward an outstanding team of the future at the club.

We are very excited for one of our current Lancers. David Ruiz, who will play on the U12 Boys Premier Lancers team this season, tried out in April at a camp in Davie, Florida through the Leo Messi Foundation. David did so well that he was selected to participate in a two-week training program in Rosario, Argentina. He's currently in Argentina taking part in the program and will return in mid-August. Not only the Lancers, but all of Plant City is so proud of David and his bright future.

Mr. Kennedy is well known and highly respected around the state of Florida. He currently serves as Assistant Coach for the Saint Leo University Men's soccer team and has since 2012. Before getting into coaching, Roger played for four seasons in the USL Pro League and had playing stints in Ireland and Venezuela. The Lancers are very proud as members of the Young Stars Academy competed in the Central Florida 3v3 Super Challenge in Apopka, FL this weekend at the U6 division. The boys had to play six games in one day. They reached the final undefeated, but lost a tough 4-3 contest to end up in second place. All the preparations are in advance of the National 3v3 Championships held at the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex. The talent at this age is incredible and the team showed tremendous heart.
